Arlington Local History
Arlington is located directly across the Potomac River from Washington DC. The area was home to American Indian communities for over 10 000 years. English settlers arrived in the 1600s and set up farming communities in the area.
During he Civil War Arlington was used as a Confederate lookout early on. Later on in the war the area was occupied by Federal troops.
At this time, Arlington is still a county, with no incorporated cities or towns within its boundaries.

Upton Hill Regional Park This is a wooded urban park with plenty of recreational activities including a pool, batting cage, mini golf. There is also a snack shop.

Arlington Bars & Clubs
Whitlows On Wilson First opened in 1946, the bar became one of the city landmarks in the downtown area of Washington. Following a six-year closure, the icon reopened in 1995 with most of the original furnishings. There is live music here on weekends; the address is 2854 Wilson Boulevard.
Mister Days Sports Rock Cafe Located on the corner of Washington and Highland, you will be able to watch practically any sporting event with a selection of over 60 televisions. Happy hours are popular, and a DJ gets everyone dancing over the weekend.
