Beaufort Art Association & Gallery - 905 Port Republic Street. Art works from over 60 local members of this group regularly exhibit at this innovative gallery. Lovely vibe to this place and the gallery offers photographs, framed originals and mounts.

The Chocolate Tree - 507 Carteret Street, If you have a sweet tooth do not pass this special shop. The smell will pull you in, then they cunningly hook you with delectable home made chocolates, toffee, fudge and gift boxes.

The Splendid Potter - 802 Bay Street, Offering an unusual mixture of hand made and bought in ceramics, antiques, jewelry, original art and furnishings all very tasteful. Do not haggle as this is frowned upon locally.

The Bisque Bakery - 56 A Old Savannah Highway, Try to pour own clay mixture into moulds, wait for it to bake, then when it comes out use your imagination to paint the piece with the coloured glazes supplied.

Beaufort Parks & Gardens

Hunting Island State Park - This is not only a beautiful beach, but 5,000 acres of protected nature reserve. The park contains marine forest, salt marshes and a nature trail. Follow this to the 1873 lighthouse at Hunting Island that is now open to the visitor.
