Ferguson Ridge Ski Information
The little town of Joseph lies 8 miles from Ferguson Ridge and offers some great accommodation and restaurants at reasonable prices. One of the major attractions in Joseph is the Joseph County Museum that features Nez Perce Native American and other historical artifacts, the museum is open 7 days a week 10am to 5pm from Memorial Day untill the third week in September. The towns other major attraction are the 7 permanent bronze art pieces that are displayed on Main Street. Other outdoor activities in Joseph include snowmobiling, hiking, ice fishing and camping.

For afrter skiing activities Joseph is your best bet. You can wonder around the local shops or visit one of the delicious restaurants such as Old Town Cafe on Main Street that has an outstanding sculptured rock beer garden, friendly service and good food. Also try Cheyenne Cafe on Main Street that serves the biggest omlets and best biscuits and gravy in the area and for amazing ice cream try Outlaw Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlour also on Main Street. Terminal Gravy is an award winning brew pub and is the best spot for after skiing drinks.
One of the prettiest ski area's, Ferguson Ridge is located on the edge of the Wallowa Mountains with stunning views of Hell's Canyon. Ferguson is relatively tiny and is family oriented but welcomes all skill levels from beginner to expert as well as snowboarders. Ferguson is one of only two privately owned, non profit ski areas in Oregon and is entirely volunteer operated. The area is a real gem if you are trying to avoid large crowds and hordes of tourists as it is only now becoming popular. Locals have enjoyed the area since 1985 because of the great slopes and the fact that if you are willing to do a bit of volunteer work you can ski for free.
