The Canyon Mountain overlooks this picturesque town, which may be small, but is surrounded by magnificent scenery and has a pleasant community spirit that enhances the appeal of Canyon City.
Historically significant, and the county seat of Grant County, Canyon was where the 'Gold Rush' was set in motion. Even today, some try their luck at panning for gold in the Canyon Creek, which runs through the town.
