Milan Local History
Milan is located in northern Ohio. A canal built in 1839 linking Milan with the Huron River resulted in an economic boom and even through Milan was landlocked it become one of the largest inland shipping centers at the time. Founded by settlers from Connecticut, many homes bear the mark of new England architecture.
