Fargo Local History
Fargo is North Dakota's largest city and was named after William G. Fargo of Wells Fargo Express. He was an important factor in the railroad-building era, which helped in the development of the Red River Valley and Fargo.
Fargo as various educational centers such as the North Dakota State University which is noted for its experimental farms and research in grain and animal breading.

Monte's Downtown - Located at 220 Broadway, Fargo, North Dakota. Monte's Downtown is the best fine dining in Fargo and has been voted so for 3 years in a row. Chef Nathan Strei creates a menu for every palate boasing of oven-broiled rack of lamb with a port demi-glaze and basil mashed potatoes to a coriander and black peppercorn crusted yellow fin tuna served medium rare with pickled ginger buerre blanc & bannana salsa. Not to mention the array of fine pastries and a menu of over 20 specialty martinis. Monte's combines their fine cuisine with an unique atmosphere specialized with a red river valley bar top. Monte's is open Monday to Saturday 4:30pm to 2:00am.

Zandbroz Variety Located at 420 Broadway, Fargo, North Dakota. The Zambroz offers a unique shopping experience, which will keep you amused for hours. The store offers books, toys, quality paper and pens, body products, house ware and gifts. The 'Dakota Soda' calls Zambroz its home. This is an old fashioned sweet shop.

The Children's Museum At Yunker Farm 1201 28th Avenue North, Fargo, North Dakota. There are more than 50 exhibits, which include children's railroad, mini golf and carousel. The museum offers children to discover things with the hands on approach. This is a great way to spend some time doing things that the whole family will enjoy. An admission fee is charged.
Skateland Skate Centre 3302 Interstate Boulevard SW, Fargo, North Dakota. Skateland has the best in roller and in-line skating that Fargo has to offer. There is a snack bar, amusement games, fun shop and skate store on site. On Sundays there is a family discount. An admission fee is charged.
Red River Zoo 4220 21st Avenue South, Fargo, North Dakota. The Red River Zoo has over 60 species of animals on display and more than 30 acres of natural habitat. There is a petting area and a 1928 Dietrich Family Carousel, which has been restored to its former glory, for the children to enjoy. There is refreshment available as well as a gift shop. An admission fee is charged.

Babb's Coffee House 315 Broadway, Downtown Fargo, North Dakota. This coffee house is filled with roasted coffee, which has been air lifted fresh every weak from Seattle. The syrups are all natural and have no preservatives. There are over 12 selections of Market Spice Teas and fresh bagels, muffins, croissants and gourmet desserts.

Old Broadway Located on the Corner of Broadway, Fargo, North Dakota. Old Broadway is a nightclub, which has two bars and between 6 and 10 beers on tap. There is a dance floor where you can dance the evening away to the music of the evening. There is never a cover charge and the nightclub mainly appeals to those of us who are in their late 20's early 30's.
Coaches Coaches is a fantastic sports bar and has seventeen TV's including a big screen to catch those all-important games. There are pool tables and darts to keep the patrons entertained.
