Tropicanoe Cove - This promises the fun of a tropical vacation with many exciting features, like the Banana Peel tub slide, which is a 229ft. of watery fun or the crystal clear water of the Frog Pond. Float on a tube down the 640ft. river of Cattail Crik and for the smaller children, there is Dolphins Delight, a mini water slide.
Columbian Park Zoo - It is home to over 120 animals representing 49 different species and is one of the oldest zoos in Indiana, dating back to 1908. The animals include pumas, lemurs, monkeys, owls, prairie dogs, kookaburras, reptiles and tiget salamander. It is open for the season between April and October and at the moment is being renovated and is due to re-open in 2006.
Lafayette Parks & Gardens
Armstrong Park - Rededicated in Spring 2000, this beautifully landscaped park was named in honour of astronaut Neil Armstrong. This 26 acre park has become a favourite amongst locals with a walking trail system, playground, open green spaces and where fishing is permitted.
Mc Allister Park - This scenic 350 acre park is located on the banks of the Wabash river and is also home to the Lafayette Golf Course. Fishing is permitted along with the open green spaces, a model airplane strip and a portion of the Wabash Heritage Trail.
