Pleasant Hill Antique Mall - Just imagine, a whole mall dedicated to antiques and collectibles. There are some 200 dealers which means you need at least a day to be able to sift through everything.

Apple Blossom Farm - This can be a day out picking apples or pumpkins or one where children can spend time getting to know farm animals, with petting them as part of the deal. It is 10 minutes from downtown.

Fon du lac Farm park and Petting Zoo - Children can feed the horses or simply check out the other farm animals. There is one room school house and a country store, models of the past, that the children can browse.

Glen Oak Zoo - There are 100 species of animals from around the world in this zoo.

George L Luthy Memorial Botanical Garden - This has award winning rose gardens. There are rain forest plants in a conservatory and all in all, there are four acres of trees and plants.

Wildlife Praire Park - On 3826 North Taylor Rd is this zoological park with the kind of animals that you would expect to find in the prairies like wolves.

Fairview Farms Restaurant - On 5911 Heuermann Rd, this is a family owned and operated restaurant with a choice of a buffet or individual plate meals. The restaurant is housed in a turn of the century farmhouse and was made into a restaurant about 45 years ago with the intention to maintain the homely atmosphere of a farmhouse. The sandwich buffet has hot and cold sandwiches with a choice of two or three meats and side orders like baked beans, coleslaw or scalloped potatoes. But the restaurant is best known for its greasless fried chicken.

One World Eats and Drinks - There is free internet access for customers in keeping up with the cyber image of this restaurant. There is a trio that plays music every night and you can expect coffees, pastries, smoothies, mixed drinks and light stuff of that nature. It is on 1245 W Main Str.

Leaves 'n Beans Roasting Company - Coffee is roasted in the house and the roastmaster uses a vintage coffee roaster from the turn of the century which is said to get the best out of the beans. While the emphasis is on coffee, tea is not forgotten and the restaurant also has specialty teas. There are eats like sandwiches and pastries to accompany the beverages and the soup is said to be quite good too. The establishment is on 1245 N Prospect.

Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe - Located at the Riverside Arts Center on 305 Water Street, this venue has the appearance of a ware house. There is live music most weekends and the meals are continental.

Daddy's Irish Bar and Pub - This is a traditional Irish pub that you would find anywhere in the United States. The most you can say that it helps you experience the taste of Ireland without going there. The Irish stew is US$3.75, an indication that your money can go a long way in this venue.

Sullivan's Pub - Downtown on 631 Main Str it is strategically located and has its regular followers.
