Fort Yargo State Park At only 14.4 miles from Monroe, located at 210 South Broad Street, Winder, is Fort Yargo State Park. This park features 1,814 acres of land with recreation facilities for the whole family. There is a lake with 2 boat ramps where fishing is permitted and pedal boats can be rented. Hiking trails, tennis courts, miniature golf, picnic shelters, are among some of the activities you can enjoy here, along with campsites and 3 cottages for rent. Hard Labor Creek State Park This 5,804 acres park is located 15.3 miles from Monroe in the city of Rutledge. There are so many things to do here that you will not know where to start. The park features 2 lakes where you can fish, rent a canoe or pedal boat, 2.5 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding and there even is a 18 hole golf course here.
