College Park Local History
The Fulton County was established in 1853, with the Chattahoochee River the source of most of the county's drinking water and is one of the smallest water sources, in relation to the population it supports. College Park, was established in 1896, along the lines of the Atlanta - Westpoint railroad and is Georgia's fourth largest National Register District. Originally, a railroad town, the city has managed to attract new business and is called "Georgia's Gobal City" because of its promixity to Atlanta and its airports. The centre of this historic city is the historic main street business district.
