Wharton Brook State Park - Route 5 near Wallingford. This is a great place to take the family for a fun day out amongst nature, and it is well worth the trip out of town. This 96 acre park has many facilities on offer, including swimming; hiking; fishing; winter ice skating; and picnic areas.

Wadsworth Falls State Park - Route 157. This is another great place for a day trip from Mystic. This beautiful 285 acre park has a waterfall and laurel groves. The park also has picnic areas; fishing; hiking and cross-country ski trails; swimming; children's play areas; and restrooms. This is a great place to have some fun, taking a break from the busy city life.

Harp & Hound - 4 Pearl Street. This is one of the most popular bars in town, and is frequented by a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. This is a great place to go and have a few drinks and have some fun, and mingle with some of the locals or fellow tourists.
