General information

The town of Pagosa Springs’ main attraction is it hot springs. The water of the springs has a very high mineral content which is thought to give it great healing properties. Two spas can be found on the banks of the springs. There are two museums in town, the first, The Fred Hartman Art Museum, includes original paintings, drawings and memorabilia from life of the owner. The San Juan Pioneer Museum is located in the east of the town near the bridge and includes exhibits that depict life in the late 1800s.

The Elkhorn Café located at 438 Pagosa Street is the place to go for wholesome American cooking at decent prices. The restaurant is open from 6m to 9pm The Hog’s Breath Saloon is open for lunch and dinner and features American cuisine at its best specialising in barbecue The saloon includes a well appointed bar and is open from 11am to 10pm.

There is something for skiers of all abilities here; from the extremely challenging runs from the Knife Ridge chutes to the groomed nursery slopes for beginners. The resort encompasses 1600 acres of spectacular terrain that all leads into the base facilities which are first class.
