Apres-ski

JJ’s Rocky Mountain Tavern is one of the hotspots for apres, with its old Wild West flavour and entertainer Moe Dixon, who has been keeping the crowds happy for the past 20 years. If you want to catch your favourite game on TV, then head for Jack’s Slopeside Grill, where the drinks flow freely and there is a decent deck for a bit of sunning. Endo’s Adrenaline Café livens things up over weekends with live entertainment and all night partying. Fast food fiends will find plenty places to get their poison of choice in nearby Frisco and Silverthorne.

Overview

Purpose-built and located 20 miles east of Vail, Summit County in Colorado, has a well-designed ski area with clear divisions for different levels of expertise. Beginners will find plenty of easy greens, intermediates have long steeps for some gentle cruising, and the advanced skier is catered for in the challenging Copper Bowl. The snowboarder has separate terrain parks for the expert and the intermediate levels, and there are 25km of trails for the cross-country skier. Undergoing a million-dollar renovation, which will see three hotels established in condominium clusters, Copper Mountain is set to expand and improve tremendously.
