Overview
One of the oldest ski areas in Colorado, Berthoud Pass, has been re-opened by the widow of investor Jim Pearsall following his death in an automobile accident. June and Paul Wiebel have ploughed roughly $1.5 million into making the resort fully functioning. Although it is small in comparison with its neighbour, Winter Park/Mary Jane, the fact that it is so close to Denver, and charge only $20 for an all day adult lift ticket, gives it a fighting chance. With terrain for all levels, as well as boarders, it would be nice to see Berthoud Pass rise again to its early glory days.
