Shames Mountain Ski Information
For non-skiing attractions, the nearby town of Terrace has a lot to offer. You could visit the Terrace Heritage Park where you will encounter a collection of historical buildings including a trappers cabin and a miners cabin as well as over 4000 artefacts. In Terrace, you will also find Big Bertha, a 50-ton spar pole used for logging; it is one of only four in North America.

For fine dining, head for the Blackstone Restaurant in Terrace, the relaxed atmosphere and excellent food make for an enjoyable evening. The Bavarian Inn is a great choice for steak and seafood in Terrace. The Black Eddy Pub has a fishing theme for its décor and has a warm friendly atmosphere. For more lively entertainment head for Gators, open Wednesday to Saturday, this is a good place for dancing.
The Shames Mountain Resort is located 22 miles to the west of Terrace in British Columbia, in the Shames Valley. This resorts claim to fame is that it gets more snow than any other ski resort on the continent. Shames Mountain boasts breathtaking views with amazing skiing terrain and good facilities; an extra bonus is that it tends to be less crowded than other resorts and so you seldom encounter queues here.
