Castle Mountain Ski Information
The Frank Slide is a landscape feature of unique geologic and historic interest and is known to earth scientists from around the world. It was created by a massive rock slide, nearly a mile square and probably 400 to 500 feet thick in places, which buried the lower part Frank in 1903 and killed 70 people.About an hour drive from Castle Mountain is Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Here you can learn about the culture of the natives, who hunted buffalo by driving them over the nearby cliff.If local wildlife and wildflowers interest you then Waterton Lakes National Park is the place to see. Take a hike along one of the many trails during summer and you are sure to see amazing wildflowers. Not to mention the common sightings of bear, elk, mountain sheep, eagles and stunning waterfalls.Charlotte and Larry Dwyer starting collecting rocks and fossils as a hobby, but that has now turned into a internationally respected collection of over 3,500 specimens. Allow them to transport you back in time with the help of this beautifully preserved collection of fossils, rocks, sea objects, carvings and jewelry at Three Rivers Rock and Fossil Museum.

The T-bar pub is well known for its specialty pizza and live entertainment during the ski season. Good food and great entertainment make this rustic style pub a great place to hang your toque for the evening. You can also relax at the Day Lodge. It is licensed and has a great menu with cafeteria style eats. The Day lodge also hosts many social events throughout the season.
Castle Mountain is located in the heart of Alberta's majestic Rocky Mountains, approximately 30 kms north of Waterton Park. It is a great mountain destination, featuring some of the world's best winter and summer activities. The resort offers 5 lifts, including three chairlifts, and 58 slopes ranging from beginner to expert. There has been many improvements at Castle Mountain Resort over the last few years, including a brand new day lodge, pizza pub, rental facilities, and retail store. The resort is a full service ski area with all of the amenities of the larger mountain resorts, without the larger mountain prices, and is one of the true gems of the Rocky Mountains, especially if you are an intermediate or advanced skier.
