rent a car at the airport Rent a car at Budget or Hertz at the international airport, made the reservation by internet and have your own transportation during the whole trip. You have to be an extra carefull driver in Caracas, everybody drives very agressively and they are many motorcycles to watch for. Speed limit is not enforced and late at night you may find many drunk drivers. If driving make you nervous, take ALWAYS a line taxi, ask a friend or a collegue for a taxi line that you can depend on. Do not carry a lot of cash with you , and bring only one credit card with a low limit of credit, so you can block it easily if stolen or lost.
