I loved Hotel L'Auberge for its excellence in service, the friendly staff and the attention to every detail. The rooms were very comfortable and well decorated, and the food was delicious ! I'd definitely recommend L'Auberge for a romantic getaway, a peaceful vacation or a business stay.

One thing about being an North American in Uruguay is the "gringo tax" however you won't get that at Hotel Terraza Del Mar. High quality and clean yet affordable unlike other hotels. The beach is stunning and the water is clean, ideal for families. Playa Solanas is the favorite beach of the local people and it is about 100 meters from the front of Hotel Terazza Del Mar. Punta Del Este downtown is very-very congested and expensive, I prefer to take a taxi in to town to party rather than live in the Punta Del Este Zoo. Don't underestimate how important it is to stay with a trustworthy local that speaks very good English. Ernesto at Hotel Terraza Del Mar will take care of you properly.
