Historical Traveller Reviews of Kuychi Rumi Hotel
Beautiful Hotel / Amazing Service
All of the reviews you read here are absolutely correct - this is a wonderful hotel w/exceptional management. Claudia not only ensured our stay at the Kuychi Rumi was pleasant she also helped make our entire visit to the Sacred Valley a success. The man she recommended to pick us up at the airport (Jorge) was honest, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. She was able to secure two tickets to Machu Picchu (even though the perurail folks said they had no seats) and recommended the Luna Rumi when she did not have availability one night of our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, serene, and consists of small houses spread across a garden. Our "room" had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fireplace and living room, kitchen and deck. All rooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated. This would be the ideal place to stay w/a family though the two of us loved having so much space and privacy. If you can spare a night in the Sacred Valley Urumbamba is the place to stay. Also, if you want to see some of the sacred valley ask for Jorge. You will be guaranteed a fantastic tour at a very reasonable price. Thanks again Claudia for a wonderful trip we will definitely be back - Allegra
My husband and I stayed here in March and were very happy with all aspects of our stay. Lodgings, staff/owner assistance, restaurant suggestions and travel advice was given freely and always right-on from our perspective. Beautiful grounds, artistically and warmly decorated lodgings and a wonderfully delicious made-to-order breakfast all contributed to a memorable visit to the Sacred Valley.
Kuychi Rumi - Believe everything you read!
We stayed at Kuychi Rumi for two nights prior to departing on our Inca Trail trek. This place is dreamy, the gardens are spectacular, and the staff is unbelievably helpful. Claudia took care of everything for us and sent us in the right direction to tour the splendid Sacred Valley. We would highly recomend Kuychi Rumi to all.
Excellent service, exceptional value

Four of us, on a whirlwind trip through the Sacred Valley, stayed at Kuychi Rumi for two nights and can't say enough good things about it. A driver was arranged to pick us up in Cuzco and from the moment we arrived we were in heaven.
The casitas are beautifully designed and appointed, the grounds are beautiful and the service by the staff was exceptional.
While the rain beat down and the water rushed past in a little aquaduct we sat inside and enjoyed a fire and nursed the sunburns acquired at Machu Picchu.
Claudia made us a fantastic breakfast the morning that we left and we enjoyed an all-too-short conversation while sitting around her dining table.
Thank you Claudia and Carlos. We'll be back!
Great place to relax!
I spent my honeymoon with my wife at Kuychi Rumi, and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The cabins at Kuychi Rumi are beautiful, designed by Carlos (he and his wife Claudia own this place). The cabin has a nice fireplace, indigenous artwork, kitchen, and two bedrooms. The grounds contain a huge flower garden, which brings an abundance of hummingbirds. All this said, we spent very little time at the hotel. There's too much to see in the Sacred Valley! Claudia will take care of anything you need, from a taxi to a tour guide for any of the sites. Her breakfast is wonderful too. Definitely worth the five bucks if you're too lazy to cook in the morning. We only got it once, but only because we bought most of our food at the markets in Urubamba and Pisaq. Unless you're someone you NEEDS a TV in your hotel room, this is the place for you!!!
Kuychi Rumi is an oasis
We just returned from Peru and the highlight of our trip was our stay at Kuychi Rumi. The grounds are beautiful with flowers everywhere. There are several individual houses all within the complex. The one we stayed in had two bedroom and baths, a dining room, living room with fireplace and a kitchen. They are spotlessly clean and decorated with Andean furnishings. The rates are very reasonable and there are good restaurants close by. Claudia, the administrator, was extremely helpful in arranging train tickets, tours, and taxis. Her recomendations for restaurants and sites to visit were excellect. Claudia and her husband Carlos, are warm and gracious hosts. You cannot go wrong staying at Kuychi Rumi.
Any time every year
As long as I can I will return.
This is the most wonderful place I've found to spend quiet relaxing days and nights.
This doesn't mean you can't have days full of adventure.
Claudia and Carlos are the perfect hosts and will give you the information you need to do whatever you like.
The Valley of the Incas is astonishing and the best place to stay without doubts is the Kuychi Rumi.
Your awakeners will be the birds including the giant humming bird and your nights will be quiet and full of stars.
Definitely the Kuychi Rumi is a million star hotel.
A memorable stay

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at K'uychi Rumi. The accomodations are fantastic: beautiful, unique houses, so much better than a hotel. The surroundings are incredible and the location, in Urubamba, makes it easy to go anywhere in the Sacred Valley. However, the best part of K'uychi Rumi is Claudia and Carlos. They are wonderful, interesting and friendly people who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Claudia provided us with some of her own pans, bowls and ingredients so we could bake a cake for my daughter's birthday. She also recommended the company we used for our Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu--and it was an excellent trip. She arranged white water rafting and horseback riding for us. We can't thank her enough as she was such a significant contributor to our fabulous time in Peru. We would love to return the favor if she and Carlos visit San Diego some day.
An ideal location

We did some tough hiking through the Sacred Valley ruins but what a reward it was to come back to our lodging at K'uychi Rumi. We have great memories of our stay with Carlos and Claudia, the world's best hosts. They were warm, welcoming and so helpful. K'uychi Rumi is in a delightful setting complete with a babbling brook, a beautiful, exotic flowering landscape, all surrounded by the stunning mountain scenery. We savored many sights and experiences from our sun deck and the pleasant, quiet ambience at all hours of the day. Our house was stylishly decorated, yet comfortable and homey wtih lovely furniture, fresh flowers, a fireplace, and it was very clean. This is an ideal location for exploring the Sacred Valley and taking the train to Machu Picchu.

The Kuychi Rumi stands above and beyond any other place I stayed in all of Peru. From the enchanting garden within, to the homey feel of an incredible luxury stay, I can't begin to describe how perfect a play it is to stay for a visit to Inca country. The staff is the friendliest you can find, the value is one that can't be beat, and the atmosphere is one in which you may never want to leave. Had the place not already been rented after me I definitely would have extended my stay. If you want an incredible experience while in Peru, with no worries and the best accomodations you could ask for, don't hestitate to stay at the Kuychi Rumi.

Do not miss the Huacatay nor Los 3 Keros. You will be able to taste Peruvian food with international flavor.
Everyone rushes to the market in Pisac, which is big and wonderful in its own way, but each village has its own market on Sunday. We chose the market in Chincherro and loved it. It was much smaller than the one in Pisac, but also seemed more authentic. Not as many options, but very charming. Loved the yarn we bought from a weaver and her shop who really showed us how they weave the beautiful tapestries and dye the yarn. Fascinating.
The KR staff will arrange a great tour for you - Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Inca ruins, rafting.
