we rented the bungallow, bc i read a review saying that single rooms were dark, n ungalow was dark as well, front desk service is really dissapointing, no english spoken, when we asked for touristical places they didnt give much information, we spent more than a week there and the last day our plane was about 2 leave at 10pm and they insisted 2 check out at 1pm, we spent 1500 usd there and they wouldnt let us stay for 3 hours more in the hotel ROOM!, wont get back there, although the city, FOOD and other people were just GREAT! Ah! somebody stole some meat n sausage from the storage room, we just noticed when we opened the only unlocked luggage at home.

I'm travelling for business purposes in South America. I stayed at the Rio Shilcayo Hotel during a week. The rooms are simply fantastic (clean, good air conditioning, TV, wireless internet connexion). The hotel services are very good, excellent menu at the hotel restaurant with very well trained staff. The gardens around the hotel are beautiful and a ­­­lorro is walking every where around the reception staff. he's talking and laughing like crazy. I'll be back to the Shilcayo next June. Best place to stay in Tarapoto and by very far.

This hotel is fantastic. I stayed there for a few nights two years ago, and am enthusiastically looking forward to my next week-long stay in two weeks.

We stayed one night and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are adequate and clean. Next time we will stay in a bungalow. We ate all of our meals here and enjoyed all of them. The staff is attentive and friendly. We look forward to our next stay here.
