I have selected the last visit since I stay here often ( sometimes they are full when I arrive). I live in Peru and travel to Lima a lot. This is my preference. THere are cheaper hotels ( and you get what you pay for) and more expensive ( and you get a lot I just do not need). They have always been a pleasure to work with, and while the breakfast buffet is generally the same things, it is varried and there is a lot to select from. They have internet offered in all rooms, as well as an internet room. I will continue to stay there when I can. It is a real value.

Nice with some problems

From experience, I would say this hotel is one of the nicer 3 star hotels. I paid $68.00 per night for a suite which inluded one queen size bed, a small living room area and a very nice bathroom which included a shower and a hot tub. I felt $68.00 was a fair price for this room however my Peruvian friends tend to disagree and state it should have been cheaper. The room was extremely clean which is a big plus in my book. There was plenty of hot water also. The hotel is also situated in a safe place in San Borja with easy walking access to good restaurants. I don't remember the name of the restaurant, but when you walk out the hotel lobby, turn right and go to the corner and directly across the street is a restaurant. They have the best chicken I ever tasted. It was so delicious. Ok now for my comments which I hope helps you out in the future. The first problem I had was my room safe did not work the day I arrived. I went to the front desk and talked to "Randolf" the hotel manager. He told me he would have someone come to the room and take a look at it. 24 hours later nobody had come to fix it. I once again asked Randolf and he told me he would take care of it. It wasn't until the 3rd time I had asked him before someone came to the room to fix it. The 2nd problem I had was my room phone was not activated. Once again I had asked Randolf, the hotel manager and he told me he would "look into it." Of course nothing happened and the next day I asked a nice woman at the front desk and she simply activated it right there on the computer. Why couldn't the manager do that? The other complaint I have was the hotel's wireless internet only works in the lobby (and perhaps in the conference areas). About half my visit the wireless connection did not work. I inquired at the front desk with (you guessed it) Randolf the manager. He told me he would "look into it." I came back later that day and it still did not work. I asked him once again and he said it would be working the next day. The next morning I inquired about it to him (again) and it was not working. I pretty much gave up on their wireless network and walked down the street to one of the internet cafe's. 1 Soles for 30 minutes you can't go wrong. One more comment about the internet is the staff was kind enough to loan me an adapter for my AC adapter for my laptop since the plug did not fit. I really appreciated that. I also agree with one of the other statements from a review here, car alarms go off all hours of the night. I think this is a given anywhere in Lima. I got used to it after a couple nights. I'm not sure if they have rooms that don't face the street but if they do I would definately ask for one. One more comment about the phones in the room. Buy a calling card out on the street becuase if you make an international call from the room it will cost you over $2.00 per minute. Local calls are pretty reasonable. All in all I liked this hotel but I felt the manager for some reason did not want to help out at all. I tried my best not to be a complainer and felt my requests were reasonable. I think I would stay in this hotel again but maybe a cheaper room. If you don't use the hot tub then save a few bucks.

Ample accommodations for a very reasonable price

Stayed here for two nights in a Britania Suite. Room was very spacious and clean with a decadent bathroom (rain shower, jacuzzi, sauna). Staff were helpful, room service prompt. Although it is not in the main tourist district of the city, the neighborhood seemed quiet and safe, and cab fare is very inexpensive from the Britania to Miraflores. I would highly recommend this hotel for travelers who seek a refuge at the end of a day of exploring.

We stayed there for 17 days in March/04. The rate was good to start with but we ended up paying less due to the lenghth of our stay;we paid $34 US per night and it included small buffet breakfasts. The rooms were carpeted, clean and decent-sized. There was plenty of hot water 24-hours and we had no water pressure problems. We had an in-room safe, cable TV and minifridge. The area feels safe to walk around (there is a park in the large median of the avenue). The staff was helpfull and friendly. In case you have trouble with stairs, there is an elevator. They also have a small (enclosed)private parking lot. The hotel itself was quiet; the only noise we heard were car alarms being set off accidentally all day long. We are hoping to make it back in Sept/05 and are definately staying there again.
