The Hilton has a good central location and very nice dining facilities and bar. But the service is atrocious. I had problems throughout my stay, ranging from wake up calls that didn't happen, to room service meals that arrived cold and late, to a credit card machine that wasn't working at check out. The solution to the last problem was to send me with all my luggage (they couldn't find the Bell Captain and no one else was allowed to take the bags) to an ATM machine. Which wasn't working. So I had to wander around until I found one which worked and almost missed my flight out.

Quito's a nice town. It has plenty of hotel options. I'd stay elsewhere.

I fell in love with the place whilst working out there and as a country Quito is a great place to use as a base to explore the mountains, jungle and coast. In and Out of Quito If you arrive by airport, having a hotel pick you up is a good thing, until you get used to being in Quito. We used the public buses later on in our trip with no problems....especially up to the Equator and back. Taxis are everywhere and are usually no problem as well. Cab back to the airport is a fine way also.
