Cafe Mosaico If you are in Quito, do NOT miss Cafe Mosaico. The restaurant sits up in a hill with sweeping views of Quito and the surrounding mountains. It can not be described in words, but TRUST ME when I tell you that you will not regret at stop here. The decor is perfect for the setting; cozy brick and beautiful iron work with sublime lighting in a building that appears to have been a home previously. Even the bathrooms are adorable. The food and service leave something to be desired, but come here for the view and quality time over a cup of coffee or a bottle of wine. I visited with co-workers on a business trip, and I swear I will return with my family some day. Honest to goodness, it's an amazing place that will move your heart and remind you that THIS is why you travel.

Do teleferico last If you are pressed for time when seeing sights in Quito, I would recommend doing teleferico last. Quito's altitude is high, and may cause sickness. Going up teleferico to an additional 3000ft only creates more problems, and travelers may get sick and ruin rest of day. It happened to someone in our party.
