I visited Cali years ago, before Cali Plaza Hotel was opened. I stayed at another nearby hotel. I made reservations at this same hotel, for this trip. When I arrived and was checking in, I did not like it the same as before. It was not as well maintained. I had read the reviews about Cali Plaza, it was my second choice. I moved there. It was clean and well maintained, but even better, there were people there that could speak English. Seemed to me that there was more activity in the Sixth Avenue area years ago. It was a little slow the nights I was there, but my visit was during the week days. I have no complaints about Cali Plaza. I hope it is still good when I return.

My husband and I visited Cali in February. Cali Plaza was a wonderful place to stay. We would definitely stay there again. The apartment we stayed in was very beautiful and made us feel like we were at home. My husband loved the 42" Flat Panel TV for the movies we watched. It is only a block and a half from El Solar a wonderful restaurant that looks like an old house, but when you enter the house it has been torn down and the restaurant looks like its in the backyard. The umbrellas and tables are situated around the yard with beautiful palm trees and banana trees decorating the restaurant. The international type menu was good but the setting made it a special memory for me and my husband . The staff at Cali Plaza Hotel was very helpful with anything we needed and was there anytime we needed them day or night. The staff spoke Spanish, but the owner Claude is American and speaks English. This was very helpful. The apartment and Hotel was very neat and clean. If your looking for nightlife Cali Plaza Hotel is right in the center of it. Cali was beautiful and a very romantic place.

I stayed at Cali Plaza in July. I liked best the location. It was near most of what I wanted. I like to walk and Cali Plaza was within walking distance of money exchangers and ATM machines, restaurants, bars, discos and shops. I plan another trip in Dec. ... I plan to stay at Cali plaza. I recommend Cali Plaza.

I am not an American Citizen but lived in USA many years, I currently live and work in Santa Marta, Colombia. I was in Cali on business. I met an American on 6th Avenue, where all the fun places are. I asked him if he knew any hotels nearby that he could recomend. I wasn´t very happy with where I was staying. He said, I would probably like Cali Plaza just around the corner. It was a small nice hotel, but what made it special for me, was a taste of my old home (USA), I forgot many of the American ways of managing a business. I love Colombia, but most businesses here need to learn organization and customer service. I did not need a cell phone, because I already have one, but I thought it a great idea to give one to each guest. The guest must buy minutes, but the use of the cell phone is free. I do not know of any Colombian Hotel offering this service. I also liked the free wireless Internet; All the previous Hotels I have stayed at, charge for this service. The thing that impressed me most at Cali Plaza, was socializing with Americans, I sat and talked with them, and all they wanted was my friendship. I miss that about USA.

Cali Plaza Hotel is a great place to stay if you don’t know Cali. Hang out with the other guests if you want to learn fast. I met my future wife there. I got engaged on my trip. I knew her through the Internet for over a year before I finally visited. I was concerned about Cali being a safe place. I didn’t feel or see any danger like promoted on TV. I have another week here. I hope to come back another visit before my marriage. I will stay at Cali Plaza. It’s nice in Cali; Many beautiful women around Cali Plaza Hotel. If you are single, you definitely should check this place out. Cali Plaza is a new and nice hotel. They furnish you with a free cell phone to carry anywhere until you checkout. You only buy pre-paid phone cards for minutes. It’s a great service.

I was searching the Internet for Hotels in Colombia & Cali, when I found Trip Advisor Hotel Reviews. Cali Plaza was ranked # 1 in Colombia and # 1 in Cali, based on web-wide popularity and coverage. The reviews seemed legitimate with a wide variety of opinions, but the thing that every review seem to have in common, was the people sincerely liked Cali Plaza even though it was small. I then searched for their web-site. It was easy to find. I made reservations and visited in March. I enjoyed it there; mainly because of the friendly and helpful people and nice rooms and great location. I found it a real plus to talk with other experienced travelers that stayed there. It made it easier to understand the culture and the streets, and was a great way to learn what to expect. The travelers had a wealth of information. It was nice to hang-out with someone that you understood. Cali Plaza is not a large hotel, but very popular with foreigners visiting Cali, mostly Americans, because it is American owned and everyone feels at home and happy to socialize with other like-minded people. There are many people on the streets in Cali that ask you for money or try to con you in some way. Cali Plaza was a nice place to come home to. It felt like a “safe house” (the only place you felt like no one would bother you). I am writing this because the workers and management are nice people. I would like to help them. They deserve it. They work very hard; they made me feel welcome and safe. I liked Cali. It has many beautiful women. I am single and liked it so much, I am here again. I am writing this from an Internet Café in Cali and I am staying at Cali Plaza. I wish they had a pool.

I stayed at Cali Plaza. It was easy and convenient to walk to sixth avenue and the nightlife; Many, many beautiful girls all around. I wish I could buy an apartment and live there. Its lots of fun! The management at Cali Plaza is strict, but professional and considerate. They’ve got something special going on. They are always busy. This is going to be a place to watch for the future.
