scouting for a new chapter in our lives don;t panick about transportation you can walk mostly everywhere in the city/ the buses are always running main street Libertad for renaca/ conon.taxis are plentiful.we rented a car for a day it was very affordable! about 37pounds!the people are very helpful all you have to do is ask for help if you are stuck!

Handicapped accessiblity Vina del Mar offers a semi-handicapped accessible walkway for tourists. The person I traveled with had a scooter which he was able to navigate the streets with. A few of the handicapped ramps were too high for his scooter to clear at which time we would need to push the cart. However, all in all it is an accessible city. A few restaurants we went to did not have handicap ramps, however the wait staff would help the person in (carrying their cart, help them up the steps, moving their cart up a too narrow ramp, etc). Vina del Mar has lots of dogs roaming the streets. They cross the streets and the cars seem to watch out for them. They seem friendly enough however at night they tend to hang out in packs. There are a few malls in town which are quite nice. They have Paris and Ripley which seems to be the two major department stores in Chile as well as a few electronics stores. It is a safe environment with free parking.
