I've now stayed in the Termas de Puyehue a couple of times- and found it to be exceptional on both occasions. The bedrooms are well equipped, and the views from the balconies, stunning. The pools (there's 3 of them), fed by water from the thermal springs are wonderful. The gym is OK- although a little under-equipped. The public areas of the hotel are some of the nicest of any hotel I've stayed in. The hotel also arranges sports and activities- I've been horse riding, visited the local volcano and done the canopy (ziplines thro' trees)- all well organised, relatively cheap and great fun. The only, slight, downside is the restaurants- not the setting (which is great), but the food- which whilst OK, isn't brilliant (the buffets are a little limited- still good though). However the wine list more than makes up for the food! Other slight downsides: the small gift shop's hardly ever open and there's no internet connection in the rooms (although you can use the computers on the ground floor).
