Good quality international standard hotel in a good location in Santiago. The quality of the restaurant is the key selling point of this hotel, the food is excellent. It is a shame, however, that the hotel rooms don't quite match up to the cuisine. All in all not a bed choice when in Chile.

Santiago The Hotel Plaza San Francisco is a great location. If your wacked out from traveling and want an easy meal, just go next door to the Itilain style place and get a very nice dinner at a reasonable price. The locals go there. Nothing typically Chile but it's easy. You have to see the city highlights i.e. the Palace, the Pre-colombian art museum, the Plaza and the Cathedral and especially the view from San Cristobal Hill. We had a great meal at the Mare Nostrum resturant. The seafood ceviche is to die for. I recommend it. They have a limo service that will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel but beware, you wil get chargedfor it. We walked all around the pedistrian walkways near the hotel and there were several good looking resturants. The shopping looked very European. All in all a fun city. If you get a chance, go to one of the wineries. They are top level on par with California and France.
