We very much enjoyed our stay at the hyatt. the rooms were large and spacial. Great amenities and very comfortable bed. The staff was just amazing. They were everywhere. Even to push buttons for the elevators. The concierge was very helpful with giving us some local restaurant recomendations that locals go too and not are fellow countrymen. They have a asian restaurant in the hotel which was amazing.

Top Local Tips for Santiago

Mercado Central everyone says --go to the Mercado Central. I was unimpressed. There were rather aggresive men tryign to direct this turista to one of the restaurants located within--place was dirty and smelly and not at all as touted by the various things we read

Reminder of $140.00 US Entry visa required upon entry at airport. Confusing layout in airport. No ingles spoken here!!! Just open your wallet or pass along the moolah in cash. Also, if you are allergic to dogs, beware. The sniffer dogs are in full force in arrivals area.

Pueblo de los Dominicos This is a great place to pick up arts and crafts made by local people - it's a little village of shops/stalls situated next to an old church. Plus it serves great empanadas!
