Top Local Tips for Santiago

Funicular and Cable Car underrated! I had been to Santiago 3 times, and last time we decided to try crossing Cerro San Cristobal using funicular/cable car on a Sunday afternoon, which we had never done before. The place was packed with Chilean kids on vacation and tourists, but the ride is great fun, especially for kids. The views from up there are great. You also have the option to stop by the Zoo on your way up the Funicular (we didn´t do this), or take a round trip. Alternatively, if you´re looking for a fun and slow way of going from Bellavista to Providencia, this is a perfect way to do it. Just don´t do like us and go on a Sunday. I´m pretty sure any other day of the week the lines are much shorter, which will make your ride even more enjoyable!
