Is this last review for real??? It seems that this person does not appreciate modern architecture. Oh yes, he is from the UK… (Stuffy and Dark)
I have been travelling to Sao Paulo for the last 18 years, The Unique is such a breath of fresh air, I have stayed in quite a few hotels and this was definitely in the top five of my list. The Hotel is done in a modern art style that is very comfortable and inviting. The hotel rooms have all the amenities, the latest technology such as DVD, flat screen TV, etc. even a library with some great/interesting reading.
On the top floor is the restaurant, bar, and outdoor lounge area with pool with a great view of Sao Paulo. The beds are extremely comfortable! GREAT HOTEL |

| Stuffy and Dark |
|
My first impression upon driving towards the entrance was that the Unique reminded me of a very large funeral home or memorial chapel. Dark and lifeless are the words that come to mind. An effort was even made to ensure the trees out front had no leaves - and this was in middle of the Brasilian springtime. Overpriced, and stuffy are the others. Nifty gadgets in the rooms except nobody told me that the window shade is cleverly disguised and hidden as a moving wall. The cleaner had a nasty habit of leaving the window open a crack and then shutting the shade. Which meant that the energy saving feature prevented the air conditioning from operating - at all. Needless to say we suffered from a sleepless and airless night and could not wait to move to the Fasano the next day. Fasano was flawless, great, and highly recommended. Unique is just an eyesore, looks like a funeral home and I felt like I was dying there.
