Wife and I had 4th floor room overlooking bay. Great location across street from historic beach. Room was good value at reasonable rate. Best breakfast buffet that we experienced in 3 weeks in Brazil.

Top Local Tips for Salvador

SENAC buffet at Largo de Pelourinho SENAC trade school has a great buffet restaurant right on Largo de Pelourinho. It's about R$30, you get an amazing selection of dishes especially focused on Bahian cuisine. Also lots of desserts. It's the same kind of dishes they serve all over Pelourinho but a way better value and just as good. All the food is prepared by students and students are also the wait staff, and they are really friendly and eager. The dining room is beautiful: on the 2nd floor of an old mansion, high celings, beautiful plank floors and if you come at the right time, you can get a free peek at the cultural/dance show in the back. A great deal.

Airport transportation Contact someone prior to your arrival, prices for taxi rides from the airpor are very expensive. You can get a better deal outside the airport, but do need to contact someone who can send you a cab
