Top Local Tips for Rio de Janeiro

Muggings Unless you are with a group consisting of some strong men, be very careful especially at night, when walking around even well lit areas of Ipanema and Copacabana. Do not dress up and wear only obviously inexpensive jewelry. We found this out the hard way one early evening on the beach side of Av. Vieira Souto in Ipanema. Three teenage boys grabbed my husband and waved a knife at him while shoving their hands in his pants pockets. During which many joggers and others on the busy sidewalk simply walked by and ignored our screams for help. Fortunately, the muggers ran away when I remembered to scream "Policia", and my husband and I were physically unharmed. The only thing that was different from the previous 7 nights was that my husband had left on his button-down casual shirt and tan jeans that he wore on a tour of Petropolis that day, instead of wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt. The local men and those in the know defintely dress down to blend in and avoid becoming a target.

Very bad hotel Pesimo hotel; la ropa de cama totalmente humeda; las almohadas totalmente húmedas.Cada una de los espacios de la habitación, la ropa de cama y las almohadas oliendo a moho... ustedes saben que el moho genera pérdida de memoria.Mal servicio en recepcion.Aseo malo.Muy mal servicio de internet e e-bussines.Cobran todos los servicios por los que en otros hoteles jamas me habian cobrado. No recomiendo este hotel. Muy malo.
