I found out there is a shortage of decent accommadation in Rio Gallegos and deciding to stay at Hotel Covadonga was not a good choice.
The rooms I was shown did not have windows to the outside (but rather a window to an internal hallway)and all smelled of cigarette smoke. The hallway to the bathrooms was under repair with holes covered with boards, one of which I stubbed my toe on. The rooms were small and poorly lit. I would definitely not stay here again and the price for the room in comparison to accommodation in Puerto Natales was grossly overpriced.
