Top Local Tips for Mendoza

Horse Trekking in Mendoza at the edge of the Andes Try the horse trek, we went for 4 hours, Ive never been so terrified in my life, nor so cold. Apparently they dont wear helmets in Mendoza, or use real saddles, or even reigns. Just a little rope with a large knot which believe me, you will be grasping onto for dear life as your horse trots along the edge of the mountain with pebbles slipping away beneath it. This might all sound negative, but it will be the experience of your life!!! And it will make you glad to be alive, the meal we ate in the little wooden cabin after the trek was probably the best meal I've ever had. The warmth, the hot empanadas, freshly barbequed steaks with amazing salsa....I'd do it all again for that wonderful feeling of relief and warmth. Perhaps just go for the 2 hour trek, not 4 hours!!! and take GLOVES. (it was winter, July, when I went, this whole experience may be a lot nicer in Summer!)
