Top Local Tips for La Plata

La ciudad de La Plata a great place to visit!! La Plata is a beautiful city and is hardly ever visited by tourists. For me it's the second most beautiful city in the country, after Mendoza. It has lots of parks and dyagonals, as it was a planned city. Nowadays it is the seat of Buenos Aires Province' government and also has an important university, which attracts young people from all over the country. The city still has many old buildings dating back to its foundation in the late 19 th century. Some of them, like the railway station, the Pasaje Dardo Rocha, the Town Hall and the Government House are architectonic jewels. However, the most impressive building of La Plata is its Cathedral. This neogothic temple is, in my opinion, the nicest in Argentina and Latin America in its genre. It's also much beautiful than many famous Europpean Cathedrals. The Cathedral was finished some years ago, when their towers were built. La Plata is easily reachable by car and by bus. It's a 50 minutes drive along Buenos Aires. Don´t miss it!!

Los hoteles de nuestra ciudad A mi parecer, el mejor hotel es el Argentino, seguido por el hotel Corregidor (que podrían considerarse 3 estrellas superior). De menor categoria (2 estrellas) se ubican hotel Del Rey, hotel Del Sol y hotel La Plata. También es posible rentar departamento temporarios por 40 dolares diarios, completamente equipados. A mi entender, es la mejor opción para el turista exigente, debido a que no considero que los hoteles de nuestra ciudad estén a la altura de las expectativas del mercado turístico internacional. Si bien la ciudad posee sus propios atractivos turísticos, en hotelería aún no está desarrollada.
