Electrical plugs This hotel (and, I suspect, more generally in Buenos Aires) uses a type of plug socket (even in the bathroom) which is not common to US or European visitors. It reminded me of those in Australia some years ago. Ask your hotel for adaptors for your computer, mobile phone etc.

Money exchange Bring U.S. dollars and exchange them at the BANK at the airport NOT the money changers. The bank is open early in the morning when the planes come in. They do not charge an transaction fee like the money exchangers or the ATM's. They have a better exchange rate. Also, use service INSIDE airport to get a remise - pre-paid taxi - to town 60 peso's - rather than hailing a cab and not knowing what the fee will be in B.A.'s morning traffic.

Pick pockets and robberies Buenos Aires is a beautiful city and we will go back again. BUT you MUST protect your valuables. On our trip several people were robbed including our friends. They were robbed right in front of the Sheraton Hotel at 10am. Watch everyone around you, keep your space and do not carry a purse camera etc. Hide the stuff..put in pockets and wear your back pack on your front!
