Location, location, location!
Very good, friendly small hotel in the heart of Bs As (one of my favourities in the world).
Friendly and professional staff.
Room comfortable, may be the lack of a fridge in the rooms brings this rating a little bit down.
Now for the price ($40.00 double room) is good value for money.

Hotel Callao update
I have just returned from Argentina having used the Nuevo Hotel Callao on two occasions whilst there. it is two years since my last visit and things have changed very little. The staff remain the same friendly, helpful people and the lively kitchen maid, Paolina, is as jolly as ever.
I noted that the rooms do not appear to have been redecorated during my absence but are still of a good standard for the type. Price for a double is now $40 per night, not bad for central Buenos Aires.
The one thing I would fault is the lack of a fridge in the rooms. Incidentally, if asking a taxi or remises driver to take you there you should note that Callao is pronounced Cashow (ow as in ouch).

Friendly budget hotel
Nuevo Callao is a small, friendly budget priced hotel situated in a vibrant district close to the city centre. Room and continental breakfast included in the fee. I have stayed there on three occasions and will be staying again shortly. Bookings taken by email require a valid credit card number and will be asked for upon requesting a booking. They do not use the card number unless you fail to show for your booking, when they take a cancellation fee. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for those who wish to enjoy the city of Buenos Aires without paying a small fortune for accommodation. They speak no English but a dictionary works well :)
