Quite nice little hotel
from A TripAdvisor MemberHowever if you do find this a problem hotel, head to BoBo Hotel in Palermo instead, why? Check out the excellent reviews on trip advisor and you will soon see why!
Nice Place, Horrible Service
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe extreme contrast of this review with the overall response we get from our guests, makes us believe that the review might not be totally objective. Possibly the reviewer is expressing a frustration with something specific that happened and that – unfortunately - we don’t know about.
Disappointing Stay
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe Art Hotel might be one of the only hotels in town that does NOT send its guests to commercial tango-shows. We have an internal policy of NOT taking commissions from restaurants, cultural attractions and other services aiming at tourists. We systematically advice places to eat, to have a drink, to watch or dance tango, etc… in function of the authenticity of the experience… the less commercial, the better… Something our guests value a lot.

Hard to Beat for Location and Value
from smacdvanbcIf only it had a swimming pool for those steamy Buenos Aires summer days, it would be absolutely perfect.
Loved the Art Hotel
from 516Good for the price, but stay away from Room #17
from robminThe area - Recoleta - is safe and very residential, but empty and dead in the evening. Next time I would rather stay in Palermo Soho, the hippest neigborhood in Buenos Aires, full of nice restaurants and great shops.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but would not return. If you decide to stay there, make sure to avoid ROOM 17, the smalles room I have ever stayed since I stopped backpacking - a two single bed room where you can barely move.
Last but not least, a room for "less than a hundred dollars" is not a steal in a country where prices are extremely low.
Five Star Service
from criostalWould definitely stay there again, even if the price goes up from $80/nt.

Port When arriving at the Port by ship it is very difficult and time consuming to get from the luggage area to the taxi waiting area. Suggest that you don't stand in the long line but try and make your way along the walkway. We were probably more than an hour waiting for a taxi. For such a large city we were quite dismayed by the poor service provided. It was pouring rain which didn't help matters any but there wasn't much control over the crowds of people waiting for taxis and tempers were beginning to flair. There really needs to be a review of the Port arrival area. There may have been 2 ships at the same time and perhaps to give them the benefit of the doubt it may not always be this hectic. Also, watch making withdrawals from the ATM machines as we lost $100 CAD at an ITAU machine. Would suggest using HSBC or Citi Bank for withdrawals.
Rent a Driver to see the City The hotel arranged a driver to take us around the city. Taxis are said to be dangerous and most hotels won't work with them. Our driver, Omar, was an older gentlemen who knew Buenos Aires very well. He took us to many places and would wait as we did some sightseeing. Our trip to La Boca was a highlight. He took us by the Racing Futbol Stadium and for 5 pesos got us in to see the stadium. That made the whole trip worthwhile for my son. The 6-hour tour cost $60 USD and was worth every centavo.
beware unmarked taxis Tourists should NEVER get into unmarked taxis that you didn't call or with someone who approaches them offering a ride -- there are frequent stories in the news about criminals using taxis to trap tourists. Make sure the street taxi says "Radio Taxi" on top, or ask the hotel to call you a car.
