Botanic Gardens If you want to chill then ride the cable tram to top of hill and walk back through theBotanic Gardens.

Dining when travelling Try this hotel's restaurant before looking in town... I couldn't imagine that you would get such a combination of views, good food and friendly service anywhere else in Wellington

Unusual shopping If you have an afternoon free (after visiting Te Papa) try Cuba Street for lots of independent stores, 2nd hand books, vintage clothing etc.
