Don't miss Lyttleton and Akaroa Day trips to either .of these places are well worth it

Akaroa Cruise Give it a miss. It's boring and you spend a lot of time looking for dolphins/penguins/seals that aren't there. You would be better going to Kaikoura for the animals and Milford Sound for the view.

Don't get breakfast at the hotel There are plenty of places serving a decent breakfast just round the corner from the Heritage so got there for breakfast rather than eat in.
