This hotel is definitely the finest we have ever stayed in. From the time we stepped foot in this delightfully stylish place, we were made to feel at home. The front desk staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself has many fine pieces of art throughout the building and the furnishings were simplely superb. Our suite, which was a standard double was far from standard. Beautifully decked out rooms, not just 1 pokey room, 2 spacious full rooms plus a lovely bathroom with spa bath. Restaurant was great and not expensive for the standard of food, breakfast buffet was a feast! Pool and spa area were on the top floor complete with a glass ceiling which was rolled back during lovely days it was Heaven! We will be returning soon rather later. Great value beautiful hotel. Great customer service, with lots of genuine smiles Central location.

It is difficult to know where to begin, check in was surly, in my room I checked the internet charges and was horrified spoke to reception and said that i would change hotels no reaction whatsoever asked for a manger to call me diddn't happen.Back in my room I decided to pay internet charges and because I was prepaid decided to stay. Big mistake first internet did not work staff unable to help other than the switch off and try again approach. I found the problem it was a broken connector at the wall, this was replaced by maintenance but I lost an hour of connection. Next morning I asked that a kight bulb over the bed be replaced and that I be shown how to switch off the light over the cooker which along with the bathroom light is not controlled by the so called Master Switch. Arrived back that evening nothing had been done called housekeeping again and same maintenance came and fixed things. There is minimal storage in the room had my wife been with me we certainly would not have stayed. Ordered room service dinner and selected all day breakfast, this came with one egg not two as shown in the menu and was arguably the worst meal I have ever had, sausages grilled tomato and hash brown simply inedible. The lamps in my room leaned at drunken angles because they were not connect securely to the base posing a potential danger of electrocution, All wall lights hung ar crazy angles and the lighting was generally very poor for a working environment. The television would have been more at home in a cheap motel, reception on the cable channels was very poor and there was not a single business channel so no market information. I used the unattended gym and was constantly disturbed by children racing through to their room on the other side, I was also disturbed by children running up and down outside my room as I tried to work. I asked in the morning if a suit could be pressed quickly as I had a meeting, I was told they would send it out and return it at 6.00pm I never once saw a manager and nobody ever asked me how things were. Summarry A cold sterile impersonal hotel not at all suited to the business traveller. Altogether awful should be rated no higher than 3 stars

Booked this holiday with travel agent and was told we had a 40 square bedroom that would sleep four people, also confirmed this hotel. Upon arrival looked at room it was too small for four people also no room for luggage. Then had to pay $600 to be upgraded to bigger room. Hot water tap came off in your hand also soap holder came off while having shower and just missed my foot. Sliverfish were found in carpet, heating would go from hot to cold with out you touching control button. Spa was just a normal bath with jets. Managment were no help at all did not even come and talk to us. This hotel should not be rated a 5 star it should be 2 star. As we looked at other hotels in cbd area and they were alot nicer and bigger then the STAMFORD. The only good thing i can say about this place was the girl behind the front desk her name was SARAH.....
