Firstly to respond to the previous person - I am pretty sure it has not been renovated, because it was like being transported back to the 1980s. And yes, the lift doors do close too fast. I almost forgot about the doors closing on my wife. Anyway, when I first checked in, the receptionist was both unpleasant and very unhelpful. I had to ask the same question 3 times, before I got a reluctant response which did not answer my question anyway. As the night progressed, we received terrible service from the waitresses. The local pub has a higher standard of service. I was attending a function, and I was starting to think that perhaps our entire side of the table was invisible, since the waitress only came to our side of the table once in 5 hours, but every 10 or 15 minutes to the other side. In the end we just got the other side of the table to order our drinks. Anyway, here is the kicker. We get back to the room at 2AM, ready to go to bed, and there is no sheet on the bed - just a blanket. I have spent a lot of time in 5 star hotels over the years (thanks to my work), and the Brisbane Hilton, is not even close to being up to the standard that is expected. I would highly recommend that if you come to Brisbane you choose a different hotel.

Well this stay was in a standard room. the list of problems is long.... of three phones in room only one worked, work table if knocked collapsed sending computer to floor. Dont ever look under a bed, it had never been cleaned in years (I even found a bottle top with an expiry of 2 years previously). A reasonably large sum of money was misplaced by my partner and the hotel didn't care (it turned up 3 months later between the seam of her purse). BE WARNED, this hotel will not accept baggage for storage if you arrive early and the room is not ready (unless you arrive via the concierge on the elizabeth street entrance). Due to medicinal requirements during the stay we pre requested NO Minibar as we the need the refrigeration space. yes, too hard basket. I have stayed in Hiltons worldwide without problems, but after this stay I was shocked, letter to managemtn even went unanswered. Staying in Brisbane.... steer clear of this hotel. (note I have since been told that it has been upgraded.....) A few minor points.... if you have any disability this is not the place for you, the lift door timing is terrible and you can be standing waiting for people to exit and it will close and go.... staf was found to be unhelpful and one of my pet hates is use meal trays left outside of doors for hours, obviously massive house keeping problems here....
