If you happen like mouldy bathrooms, ripped carpet, flaking paint, and leaky toilets this is the place for you. Oh and the pool has been filled with gravel, there is no net on the tennis court, and the breakfast is lousy value. Beware!!!

Received a newly refurbished room, nice, great for the price, some work being done to the courtyard, big place, friendly staff. I would recommend for accomm under $120 in Canberra.

Nice hotel 99.00 dollars including a full cooked buffet breakfast. Rooms were being refurbed down corridor but no inconvenience. Great value. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Lots of little things meant didnt get value for $. (I paid $99 pn). - At least one room had no curtains (view from foot-path / road!) - No foxtel (advertised) - No TV remote, unviewable recption on 3/5 channels - No plug for basin - "Deluxe Continental Breakfast" meant "fresh brewed coffee" = DIY instant sachet + warm water. - DIY Defrost the FROZEN pasteries in the microwave! - Stewed fruits suspiciously "Home-brand" quality - Tables uncleared / uncleaned. - Every time I walked past reception, someone was there complaining. One woman was crying!. Summary: If you only want a bed and some toast or cereal in the morning, dont care about appearances, then this might be ok.

Horror Visit

This hotel is disgusting. The room I was given had 3 beds and all 3 had stained bed covers and I am sure the sheets on the main bed were not clean. The toilet had been broken and siliconed back together. The room stunk and was mouldy and the refrigerator was so filthy I wouldnt put anything in it. There were some old balnkets and pillows thrown in the wardribe that the door was hanging off. There was a syringe disposal box in the wardrobe that had been used!!! This hotel is not fit for humans to stay. Highly unrecommended even if the rest of Canberra is booked out.

Great value accommodation for the price - i booked on www.standbyrates.com withh breakfast included. Was close enough to everything and the room was clean as well as the linen etc.... didn't see any lights tied up with rope thats for sure, maybe there's been some work done over the past months...? It's about 3&a half star i think but offers much mor than most 3 &a half start motels. I'll become a regular evertime i'm on business, great value.

Was just close enough to the city that I wasn't stuck in the hustle and bustle of it. Am pleased to say the staff were friendly and efficient and were very helpful. Extremely close to Dickson shops so a good feed wasn't hard to find. Facilities aren't 5 star but for what I paid, I got a great deal and I got what I wanted and needed. Great for the budget traveller who especially wants to be close to everything!

Value for money in the capital

I paid $89.00 for two people including a buffet breakfast on the web site www.okjack.com.au, I got an OkJack membership for free and saved a further 7.5% off the 89.00.. great value and friendly staff. Not the best hotel in Canberra, but by far the best I have stayed in for the price. We were right next to the Dickson precinct for Restaurants, over 50. I recommend it to my friend especially those on a budget.

Demolish it and do everyone a favour!

Oh My God! Well, Canberra was fully booked, so my unplanned extra night was spent in this poor excuse for accommodation. The bathroom was so mouldy, that I did not want to shower. The timber in the roof of the front entrance was rotten, and the whole thing was tied up with ropes (to light fittings, no less!). No heating, and a pedestal fan for cooling. The toilet had been smashed to pieces - (maybe at the hand of a previous unhappy traveller!), and had been re-assembled, jigsaw style, with silicone. Needless to say, it was NOT secured to the floor, and very dangerous!
