Top Local Tips for Oshkosh

Who knew? Never been there before. Everything big and commercial is on the west side of town. The university is on the east side. The Town has not revived its downtown and really should. There are some good places to eat but you have to guess which ones. Vitale's is quite good. Fratello's is good. Charcoal Pit II is only fair. Bagel breakfast at Big Apple Bagels on Wisconsin Ave. is where everybody goes. We must have gone there during the one week when nobody is there. Honestly, it was like a ghost town. I'm sure students fill it up during the school term and EAA folks flood it the last week in July. We just could not see what sustains the economy year round. Oshkosh B'gosh does not even make adult clothes any more and I'm guessing, since Carter's bought them, it is all made off shore anyway. The EAA museum is absolutely a must. It is so nicely done. Informative and interactive displays worth your time. They need to improve the gift shop
