Great people and place to stay

I stayed at the Value Inn for 2 nights and had a lovely time. There is a computer in the lobby for e-mail, the room was very comfortable, the breakfast very filling and the staff are great people. There are drinks: tea, coffee and 3 types of juice available 24/7. The bus stop is a short walk down the road. There are plenty of restaurants close around. I would recommend Value Inn to everyone as it is a great place to stay.

When I arrived at the hotel, I asked to stay for two nights. I spent the first night there - no problem. The next night, I get back to my room only to find a note on the door that all of my belongings were locked in the front office (this is at 1am). Ended up retreving my items - told there was no room at the hotel (suprising since it was quite a dump) - took my things and stayed at another hotel. Now two weeks later, I noticed they still charged my credit card for two nights. I called to speak with the manager - she admitted to renting out my room to someone else then hung up on me. I tried to call back and was told she was out of the office.
Wow.....what professionalism!! Do yourself a favor - keep on driving!!!

beware We arrived at 9:30 in the evening. Checked in and paid cash. Went to our room and were greatly disappointed. The room was dark, dreary, not too clean, the bed was curling at the corners, the floors were dark and stained. It was supposed to be non smoking but had cigarette burns on the bed. It was so dark in the room I think they thought it would cover the defects. We immediately went back to the office and asked to have a refund and were told no refunds. Asked to see the manager and were told (a lie) that they were gone until Monday. Left the premises and called the police who came promptly and tried to arbitrate our refund. In the end the manager came out and paid us half our money back. Taught us a big lesson. Never stay in an unfamiliar hotel without seeing the room before paying.
