pleasant stay at attractive location
from JLM990022Our room was spacious with a sink in the bathroom and another with large counter in the room itself. The microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker were installed with a separate counter, small cupboard and drawer to provide additional storage. Room included desk with comfortable chair and a nice arm chair. Our bath had shower only, tile floor and water pressure and temperature were very good. Nice soaps and toiletries, larger and soft towels and bath robe completed the bath features.
We had Tempur-Pedic beds - a nice way to actually try out these mattresses. I have arthritis and woke pain free and free of stiffness -- a real treat. There were 2 blankets on the bed and the top one is Pendleton patterned blanket. I didn't notice any itching. Room also had a desk and nice arm chair. Each bed had 5 pillows, so it was easy to make yourself comfortable.
Lighting was a little limited: fluorescent bulbs were in the fixtures and they just didn't seem as bright as 3-way bulbs. Unlike earlier reviewer, we found plug-ins at desk, one near each bed and unused ones behind nightstand between the beds. That's one thing that could be improved: we had 2 queen beds and there was just one nightstand between them; a second one would have helped.
Room was very clean and all bedding and furnishings were in excellent condition. Temperature is controlled by thermostat and heating and cooling were quiet and efficient.
There is a business room where internet access, fax etc is available; also an exercise room but we didn't use either.
There is a small 4 star restaurant/bar combination off the lobby with some additional table and stool seating in the lobby itself. The menu is posted in the elevator and on a room service menu in the room. We planned to have breakfast there, but forgot it was Father's day so only reservations and brunch were offered, which didn't meet our needs. Several chain restaurants are within walking distance (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Azteca and Shari's). The decor is lodge style with large finished log construction. Construction is solid and room was very quiet -- we saw papers the next morning at adjoining rooms but never heard a sound except some doors closing.
Our room rate for 2 adults was $99.00 plus tax and fees for a total of
$111.00. We will stay here again.
Good Value
from SassycruiserThe bathroom toileteries were excellent.
The only down side for us was the Tempurpedic mattress. I know that this is a selling point for the hotel. The mattresses were hard. Probably because tempurpedic requires repeated use to be comfortable to your body. That was my only complaint and it was not bad enough for me not to recommend this hotel.
The staff at check in were very pleasant and helpful.
Would highly recommend this hotel.
Loved this place!!!!!!
from juliebug52Rocky Mountain Lodge in the heart of Vancouver
from RoamingDocThis is a first class business (or otherwise) establishment. They took care of us, the room (executive on 4th floor and good rates w/AAA) was simply perfect (tempur-pedic bed no less with his/her controls for comfort - right, the material on the top and some kind of air bladder beneath, pretty nice). Dual wash basins in separate bath sections, the room was well equipped and comfortable. They will even BRING a Bowflex or Schwinn exercise device to your ROOM for private fitness (but they have a great pool and exercise room on the first floor if you desire). Every member of the staff was pleasant and helpful. The executive floor requires a special key to get there on the elevators so you can be assured of great security throughout. High speed internet, a very nice in-house restaurant and central to many areas of the city (both) make this a spot to relax 'and' work! For us, there will be no other place we'll stay. Fabulous for the reasonable price.
Wonderful Getaway

from kellystpWe were busy in Portland during the day so the kids would swim in the pool, read the complimentary newspaper and then we'd go have a sumptuous breakfast at the Heathman Lodge restaurant. After breakfast we would take a 20 minute drive into Portland via 205 and I-80.
Our room was clean and comfortable and large enough for the 2 adults and 2 kids. There were also group spaces where we could play cards or hang out.
The restaurant was excellent -- worth trying on its own.
Nice personal service. I messed up the online reservation and accidentally booked two rooms and they graciously refunded the extra room.
I don't know if I'd try it mid-week -- the traffic could make it hard.
great Portland airport area hotel
from DallasElmoThe room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The beds have Tempurpedic mattresses. The blinds close securely to completely darken the room. We got a great night's sleep to recover from our tiring travel day and begin our vacation refreshed.
When we awakened in the morning, we went down to the hotel dining room for breakfast, and were greeted by a roaring wood fire in the lobby fireplace. Now, that's Pacific Northwest atmosphere for you, even in July. The breakfast was delicious, too.
Wonderful hotel!

Cruise Three Rivers A new cruise company has purchased and upgraded the river cruises which cruise the Columbia, Willamette and Snake Rivers and start in Vancouver, Washington. The week-long cruises are on a brand-new ship built to look like a river boat. The cruise highlights the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the scenic Columbia Gorge, the Snake River Canyon, Pendleton woolen mills, and Mount St. Helens with lots of locks and other attractions. We met friends from Texas who thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and side trips.
Stay here, drive to Portland! This hotel is a MUCH better deal than the hotels in downtown Portland. My tip would be to stay here and if you want to go to Portland just drive from here...or try some shopping around Vancouver!
The Heathman Lodge A relaxing, rustic getaway in downtown Vancouver, Washington, The Heathman Lodge is a mountain-like retreat offering Northwest ambiance, exciting wedding packages, and luxury hotel amenities for business and vacation.
