Basic but convenient accommodations

I found the hotel to be very conveniently located. However, my room was in great disrepair and extremely dirty, like a one star hotel. I don't mind the disrepair but the cleaning (carpets, walls, bathroom) would be easy enough to fix.

Top Local Tips for Seattle

Non-existant in Seattle Only way to downtown Seattle from the airport is by bus or taxi. How does a world class city not have a train that goes from the airport to downtown? Portland does. Chicago does. San Francisco does. Why not Seattle? Sad. The bus is only $1.50 each way, but takes twice as long as a taxi, which cost my wife and I $25.

Things to see and do! Use the shuttle buses that are free within the central zones (the stops are sign posted) Also visit the space needle for super views of the city and Lake Union. Great atmosphere at Pike place market and if you have time do the underground tour, tickets from the cafe in Pioneer Square.

Best breakfast in Seattle You cannot go wrong at Le Pichet, but a Sunday breakfast is the best. The menu is rich and satisfying, with lots of options, both sweet and savory and with excellent coffee and a great wine list. Family friendly or romantic, everyone should have the chance eat there at least once.
