Gorgeous, Nice View of Bay

My husband I stayed at the Waterfront Marriott Seattle the night before our cruise to Alaska. Loved our room and the view of the Bay from large floor to ceiling windows and of course watching the cruise ships come in. Room service was prompt and good. Bathroom was huge.
Stay again for sure!

Excellent Choice!!!

WOW! What a wonderful hotel! We stayed here for two nights at the end of a cross country trip that involved nine different hotels.

The location is excellent. You are on the waterfront (there are only two waterfront properties in Seattle) about one block from the aquarium and across the street from one of the cruise ship docks. From this location we walked everywhere - Space Needle. REI, Pike's Market, etc.

Because my husband is a platinum member, we had access to concierge lounge. Free breakfast items, afternoon snacks, evening appetizers and desserts. It was a very nice touch.

Our room had a beautiful view of the bay and the skyline. Gorgeous at night.

Lovely lobby, very friendly and extremely helpful staff. We truly felt welcomed and at home here.

Only negatives were the hot tub at the pool area was not functioning properly and parking is $25/night but that is average for area. Minor issues compared to all of the great things about this hotel.

We would definitely stay here again!

Nice Hotel, Bad Location

I stayed at the Seattle Marriot for 3 days, August 9-12, 2004. Coming from Vancouver, I was surprised to find that Seattle has an industrial port. Since the hotel is across the street from the seaport, the hotel and its surrounding area can become very active with cruise ships and ferry passengers. Although the hotel is only 2 years old, it has some hits and misses. The hits: The rooms are very clean, including the carpets. The hotel has a nice interior and good rugs. The lobby is small but has a cozy atmosphere. The hotel has an upscale restaurant, if you like infusion-type food (lamb stew with oranges, for example). The gym facility is small but well maintained. The guest laundry room is clean, has well maintained machines, and is free of charge. The weekend staff (Wed to Sun) is professional and courteous. Now for the misses: overall the staff was, generally, not friendly but forcibly hospitable. There is a freight TRAIN that runs behind the hotel (the Santa Fe Express), and it's wheels squeak all night. In fact, I had to change my room because it ran right pass my window. This may also explain the reason each room has a dream machine (it plays soothing sounds). The pool and sauna area is small, the water a bit murky, and it needs a little attention. Next, besides the Edgewater Hotel which is at the other end of the seaport, this is the only hotel in the area. It can be kind of lonely walking there at night. Thank goodness for the trolley, which runs right in front of the hotel. Last but not least, there are no spa facilities in the hotel. You'll have to book your facial elsewhere.

Excellent hotel and restaurant!

Stayed at the Marriott WF on Mothers Day weekend with wife, baby and mother-in-law (yes, two rooms...), and had an excellent stay. Staff was prompt, courteous, and had a great attitude. Rooms were excellent, and although booked on Priceline we got lucky and had great ocean views in both.

The restaurant was also great (especially for a hotel restaurant), their Mothers Day brunch was just excellent.

They offer valet parking only I think, so that's a bit spendy, but service was very prompt.

I do 50+ business trips a year and stay mostly at Marriotts; this was the best Marriott I've been to and one of the best hotel experiences I've had period.

Very Nice Place To Stay

Stayed here in May, 2004 for two nights after a one week Princess cruise to Alaska. Location is close to everything you would want to see in Seattle. Trolley is right outside the front door. Stayed on the Concierge level close to the elevators and the club. Continental breakfast in the morning included in the rate. Staff is very good. I cannot say enough about the concierge staff both on the ground floor and in the club. They were terrific helping us with tours, directions and reservations. Thanks to them we were able to see a great deal of Seattle and had a great time for our two days.

A Perfect Stay!

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in June 2004 with my family and several of my co-workers. We were greeted at check-in with friendly and courtesy staff members. Our rooms were clean and offered a partial view of the water. All the staff, from the front desk, house keeping, valet and especially the consierge staff were very helpful and friendly. A special thanks goes out to Margo and Hope who helped us with baseball tickets and other sightseeing tickets. Hotel is within walking distance to the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and the piers. We'll be back! I would highly recommend!

Pros:
Lovely view if you get a waterview room
Great Location, Walk to everywhere
Clean
Very comfortable Mattress and Pillows
Well insulated windows, so street sounds are not at all bad

Cons:
Paper thin walls - you can hear the next door rooms and their TVs very clearly - though the double glazed windows block out the street sounds

Parking - 25$ a day for using the hotel parking

Got a great internet rate, but as one would expect it wasn't a view room. Staff was friendly, rooms were spotless, well insulated against noise from outside and adjacent rooms, but noise did carry in from the hallway from less considerate guests. The hotel did handle the noise soon after I called at 1:00 am. Great location for exploring the city either by foot or public transportation.

Unfortunate Faux Pas

I decided to stay at the Seattle Waterfront Marriott for a special weekend, where I was to propose to my now fiancé. In deciding between the Marriott and the Edgewater, I chose the Marriott because they were able to guarantee the type of room I wanted specifically a Deluxe King room overlooking the water a very romantic setting with wraparound windows. (The Edgewater claimed that while I could specify a water-view - the room size, location and balcony, etc. were all first-come first-serve at the time of arrival).Prior to the trip, I contacted Marriott several times to confirm the reservation and the room selection. However, when I arrived at the hotel with my fiancée, I was disappointed to learn that we had been moved to a standard room, and all other room sizes were booked.I can not complain about the hotel itself or the service, (the desk manager did compensate us for one of the nights after some argumentation - luckily I had with me a written confirmation of my reservation, including the room type), however I was very disappointed that this happened on such a significant occasion, when I had spent so much time researching our place of stay and verifying our plans.I really relied on the Marriott reputation for service and class for my proposal weekend I felt the splurge for this hotel would be worth it in order to insure that everything would be handled well. It s a shame that they didn t live up to expectations.

Top Local Tips for Seattle

Bubble tea! So silly, but we discovered a special drink that we fell in love with in Seattle called Bubble Tea - it's delicious! Hardly fine dining, but you have to give it a try...look for the Bobachine store in the food court at the mall on Pine and 3rd Streets.

Take the bus... It easy to catch the bus into the city and cheap ($2.00). Last time we were there I paid $45 a day for rental and $20 for parking. The bus is fast and safe.

Eat at Brooklyn! We were recommended to try this restaurant by our hotel bartender. Their chowder is phenomenal and the pork chop meal (cant remember the actual name) was spectacular. Great waitstaff, excellent drinks. This is a must for every trip to seattle
