Thanks for the chance to say some great about your hotel and location. I have been there twice, once with my children and once for a romantic getaway. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the golf course and the mountain range. (Beautiful) Olympic Lodge fulfilled everything we needed and more, we will be back in the future as the kids loved it because of the amazing pool and hot tub. All the best in your search I just felt the search was over when we stay at you hotel. Thank-you.

Wow!

We've never stayed with BW before. After reading other reviews, we tried it. Wow! Fabulous room, great service and awesome breakfasts for $5. We will stay at this hotel again.

Great Hotel!

from evilipoo
After reading the reviews of fellow TripAdvisor folks, we decided to give the BW a try for our recent trip to PA. What a great place! The room set up is convenient, the rooms were nice sized (we did book an oversized king room) and the breakfast was great! We stayed for 4 nights and only on the last day did we decide to venture to Joshua's for breakfast. Truth be told, we probably could have had breakfast at the BW on the last day too because the variety was good and the food was delicious and fresh. You will pay $5 for breakfast, but it is well worth it.

Our room was spotless and very quiet (we were on the south side facing the golf course) during the week. On the weekend, the hotel was overrun by families with kids splashing in the pool (in March!) but they cleared out at the appointed time and we slept undisturbed.

Previously, we have stayed at Domaine Madeleine (our favorite in PA) and Collettes (not our favorite) but since this was a quick business trip we did not want to pay that kind of money. Glad we took the chance on the BW as it suited our needs perfectly for about 1/2 the price of a B&B.

One aside--housekeeping does not pay much attention to the "please make up room now" door hangers... so if you are in a hurry for maid service call the front desk.

A great experience

My husband and I booked a room online at the Best Western Olympic lodge in Port angeles washington.Just a Mom and Dad get away.
The room we had on the third floor was just beautiful. A king size bed with sofa and chair, (they list it as an oversize room and it was) It was just redecorated in wonderful earth tones the bath had the most beautiful lights. Everything was so new I was sure we were the first to stay in the room......The lobby is set to look like a Lodge. The room was quiet no neighbor noise or hall noise. I would go back again.

Best Hotel Accomodations in Port Angeles

from A TripAdvisor Member
My parents retired to Port Angeles 15 years ago so I have been to the area a lot. Olympic Lodge and the Red Lion are, in my opinion, the only places to stay in Port Angeles.

Olympic Lodge is a fairly new hotel/motel and is very, very clean. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is a very large lobby area that is open and very nice. Olympic Lodge serves a buffet breakfast every morning. It is basic breakfast fare and nothing to really rave about but there is something for everyone.

Olympic Lodge is located off the road and it is quiet...a must for our family.

Book ahead when planning for spring and summer trips. I have stayed in the winter months as well and the place can be nearly empty. Prices are higher in the busy season and very, very reasonable in the off season.

We have booked several rooms when we have gone to Port Angeles at Thanksgiving with a large family group. The staff has been accomodating to all requests.

Pay a little extra and stay here rather than the smaller, dumpier motels in Port Angeles. Trust someone who knows the area, some of those little motels are straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock film!!

Olympic Lodge is the place to stay when traveling to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.

Excellent accommodation

from thrifty
This was the nicest accommodation on our trip. We stayed here for one brief night in order to visit Hurricane Ridge (well worth seeing) and then catch the Victoria car-ferry. The hotel lounge/lobby is very impressive. Our room was modern, spacious and very comfortable. We were recommended to visit the "Bushwhacker" restaurant for evening dinner and it was so good that we had to skip the hotel breakfast next morning. That's a pity because the hotel breakfast is apparently very good. We would definitely stay here again and hope to take more advantage of this nice establishment next time.

Good hotel in Port Angeles

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Best Western Olympic Lodge in August 2005. My husband and I had an large King room on the second floor. It was very spacious, with small refrigerator and microwave, sitting area and King size bed. There really isn't much of a view of the mountains anywhere from the hotel because the golf course behind the hotel is on a hill. The king patio rooms on the first floor have a small patio with grass but look through the chain link fence that borders the golf course. I suggest getting a second floor room for that reason. My adult sons stayed in a queen room on the street side of the hotel. It was large, but no refrigerator or microwave. They did not complain about noise. The diner Joshua's next to the hotel was a good place to eat, with more reasonable prices than elsewhere in town.

Bright spot in Port Angeles

from Maribeth
Slim pickings in Port Angeles when choosing a hotel long-distance. Very tough to determine cleanliness, accuracy of advertising, etc. We were VERY pleasantly surprised by the Olympic Best Western.

We were choosing a hotel for a two night stay between the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle and the Fairmont Empress in Victoria. The Olympic Lodge was immaculate. No smoking allowed on premises ...nor pets. My husband and father smoke and we love our pets, but it was nice to stay at this Best Western with high standards. Our stay happened to coincide with a youth baseball tournament and the kids were required to be quiet and in their rooms by 10 p/m. Hallelujah AGAIN for a hotel that has rules and sticks to them, making everyone's stay more pleasant. A rarity in this day and age! (We were traveling with our 15 and 12 year olds, so don't think we hate kids....we just like for parents to enforce rules and often they don't...so this hotel takes care of those situations for you).

Pool and lobby are attractive and a golf course borders the back of the hotel. Back rooms are definitely preferrable, due to highway noise on Rt. 101, but most of the motels in Port Angeles are on 101, so this is not a negative compared to other lodging in the area.

Renovated bathrooms....a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommend for those traveling the peninsula.

Very Nice Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
This Best Western lodge is like a small hotel, not the typical motel type Best Western. There is a large, attractive lobby that faces the golf course. Our room also faced the golf course - it was quiet & very spacious. Our bethroom had been partially remodeled & was very nice - at the time we were there, they were waiting to get the new granite countertops. We weren't told about the breakfast at the time we checked in so we didn't realize that breakfast was available until we were checking out. We had already decided to eat at a restaurant down the road but would probably have eaten there if we had known breakfast was available.

Customer Service needs improvement

from NWBallardTraveler
We stayed at the Best Western Olympic Lodge one night prior to boarding the ferry for Victoria. The hotel is being remodeled and we were initially given a room without a bathroom sink! Can you believe that . . . so of course we complained. Guess what . . . they offered us a room that had a bathroom sink and which was completely remodeled. The desk clerks were young and inexperienced, to say the least. Also, demand a room on the backside of the building. The road facing rooms are not very quiet. I probably will not stay here again due mainly to poor service. The remodeled room was comfortable but the struggle to get it was unpleasant.

Pleasant if you have a back side room

from DZZLawrenceville
Me and my wife spent one night at BW Olympic Lodge at the beginning of the June 2005. Make sure to book a room at the back side of the hotel, it is quiet. Front side might not be, hwy is too close. Back room overlook a golf course, from the second floor you cannot see the mountain. Room was clean. In the morning, only surprise was a $5.00 surcharge per person for the breakfast bar. Did not see that one coming. But the breakfast was really good. The room price (AAA) was more than acceptable for the service rendered.

Top Local Tips for Port Angeles

Sequim/Lavender On the way to Port Angeles from Seattle, make the time to stop at the Lavender farms in Sequim. My favorites are Jadin du Soleil, and the Port Williams farm. You can google information through Sequim Lavender Association. I stocked up on bath products and lotions that I usually order through their websites. I find their products to be better then some that I have bought a body stores such as Bath & Body, and others. Also, most gift shops have candles, soap, and culinary products as well.

Hurricane Ridge Go there. Try to time your viisit with the sunset, which could be spectacular. Bring mosquito repellent.

Hurricane Ridge visitors center Great place with easy access to experience the Olympic national Park. Don't give up if the weather is lousy or foggy in Port Angeles since the visitor center is often above the clouds with beautiful vistas.
