Wow!
from krf1Great Hotel!
from evilipooOur room was spotless and very quiet (we were on the south side facing the golf course) during the week. On the weekend, the hotel was overrun by families with kids splashing in the pool (in March!) but they cleared out at the appointed time and we slept undisturbed.
Previously, we have stayed at Domaine Madeleine (our favorite in PA) and Collettes (not our favorite) but since this was a quick business trip we did not want to pay that kind of money. Glad we took the chance on the BW as it suited our needs perfectly for about 1/2 the price of a B&B.
One aside--housekeeping does not pay much attention to the "please make up room now" door hangers... so if you are in a hurry for maid service call the front desk.
A great experience
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe room we had on the third floor was just beautiful. A king size bed with sofa and chair, (they list it as an oversize room and it was) It was just redecorated in wonderful earth tones the bath had the most beautiful lights. Everything was so new I was sure we were the first to stay in the room......The lobby is set to look like a Lodge. The room was quiet no neighbor noise or hall noise. I would go back again.
Best Hotel Accomodations in Port Angeles
from A TripAdvisor MemberOlympic Lodge is a fairly new hotel/motel and is very, very clean. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is a very large lobby area that is open and very nice. Olympic Lodge serves a buffet breakfast every morning. It is basic breakfast fare and nothing to really rave about but there is something for everyone.
Olympic Lodge is located off the road and it is quiet...a must for our family.
Book ahead when planning for spring and summer trips. I have stayed in the winter months as well and the place can be nearly empty. Prices are higher in the busy season and very, very reasonable in the off season.
We have booked several rooms when we have gone to Port Angeles at Thanksgiving with a large family group. The staff has been accomodating to all requests.
Pay a little extra and stay here rather than the smaller, dumpier motels in Port Angeles. Trust someone who knows the area, some of those little motels are straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock film!!
Olympic Lodge is the place to stay when traveling to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.
Excellent accommodation

from MaribethWe were choosing a hotel for a two night stay between the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle and the Fairmont Empress in Victoria. The Olympic Lodge was immaculate. No smoking allowed on premises ...nor pets. My husband and father smoke and we love our pets, but it was nice to stay at this Best Western with high standards. Our stay happened to coincide with a youth baseball tournament and the kids were required to be quiet and in their rooms by 10 p/m. Hallelujah AGAIN for a hotel that has rules and sticks to them, making everyone's stay more pleasant. A rarity in this day and age! (We were traveling with our 15 and 12 year olds, so don't think we hate kids....we just like for parents to enforce rules and often they don't...so this hotel takes care of those situations for you).
Pool and lobby are attractive and a golf course borders the back of the hotel. Back rooms are definitely preferrable, due to highway noise on Rt. 101, but most of the motels in Port Angeles are on 101, so this is not a negative compared to other lodging in the area.
Renovated bathrooms....a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommend for those traveling the peninsula.
Very Nice Hotel

from DZZLawrencevilleTop Local Tips for Port Angeles
Sequim/Lavender On the way to Port Angeles from Seattle, make the time to stop at the Lavender farms in Sequim. My favorites are Jadin du Soleil, and the Port Williams farm. You can google information through Sequim Lavender Association. I stocked up on bath products and lotions that I usually order through their websites. I find their products to be better then some that I have bought a body stores such as Bath & Body, and others. Also, most gift shops have candles, soap, and culinary products as well.
Hurricane Ridge Go there. Try to time your viisit with the sunset, which could be spectacular. Bring mosquito repellent.
Hurricane Ridge visitors center Great place with easy access to experience the Olympic national Park. Don't give up if the weather is lousy or foggy in Port Angeles since the visitor center is often above the clouds with beautiful vistas.
