Historical Traveller Reviews of Quinault Beach Resort & Casino Hotel
Pleasantly surprised
from crannies
We just came back from celebrating our 25th anniversary and had a wonderful time. We stayed 2 nights and our room was clean, large (not a suite) and had a great view. I was a bit worried after reading the reviews about the unfriendly staff but we only ran into one such person who happened to be who checked us in. After that we had only great service and smiles. We arrived Sunday and even thow it was Superbowl night, we still found a place to sit for 'happy hour' in the lounge. Later that evening they had live music which was nice to listen to while gambling. But the best part of our stay was eating at Emilys, it was the best food we had during our whole week getaway, and the best priced, (excellent Halibut)! and great service. Free breakfast came with our room pkg., anything off the menu and both mornings very good. Gambling was typical, you are really not to go home with money in your pocket. Comps points are not good, but very few places are, and we are not big gamblers. To top it all off, we checked out and left our swimming bag in the room, realized this at our next stop in Sequim. Called them and they promptly sent it to our home, it arrived the same day we did! Though a long 4+ hour drive for us, we will definetly go back again.
Sorry, but I really liked this place.

I don't travel to relax and I have no patience for bad service, worse food, or small value for big bucks. I didn't expect to enjoy myself at Quinault for the 2 nights and 3 days I was there. But I did....damn it. And it wasn't my fault. It was theirs. I was wound tight from the drive from Portland and had a chip on my shoulder by the time I checked in. I barked at the desk clerk. She smiled and offered me free fruit from the basket at the front desk. I had an ocean front room on the top floor. It was immaculate and resort quality. You know what I mean...the furnishings were fresh and looked new. Sheets were crisp and towels were fluffy. And clean. Even the top of the TV had been dusted.
The view was extraordinary. God's work that. But the big windows with clean panes....that was man's work. Good job, too. I had the Friday night feast at Emilys. It's not that rare to find restaurants to feed you all you can eat. The real trick is to find one with food quality so exceptional that the last piece you eat tastes "almost" as good as the first. I overindulged, but I wasn't sick because I ate too much bad meat and fish and too much lard-laced dessert. I was full. In a senuous, decadent, "ahhhh" kind of way.
I don't gamble but I laughed out loud at the gamblers' antics. The crowd had fun. I did too. Kudos, Quinault. I came home a lot happier and relaxed than I left. That almost never happens.
15 year Anniversary Ruined

I tried to contact the resort to let them know of my concerns but in 6 weeks, I still have not received a response. I booked this anniversary weekend 3 months in advance for New Years Eve. We arrived a bit early on the 31st (but I had called first to make sure that we could get in our room) only to find out that our room was not ready, nor would it be available until 4:00. I travel frequently to local casinos in the Washington, Idaho, Oregon areas and have never seen a casino so poorly staffed. There were long lines everywhere (cashiers, and ticket machines), machines that didn't work, when they did break down, there weren't any staff available to fix them. The people that were working were very unhappy with the conditions. Complaining about their hours, how long they were working, who they were working with and in general miserable about being there. I stopped an employee to ask a question and he asked me if he looked like the information desk. The entertainment on New Years Eve was undanceable, unless you could dance to Jazz. The buffet on that night was terrible and cold and was served the next day for brunch.
I really thought that I would at least hear from the resort. I feel that they have a right to know these kinds of customer service issues. Obviously, they are not concerned.
Best vacation I have had in years!!!

This hotel would be ideal for anything from a simple vacation to a business conference or an elaborate wedding. When I first entered the hotel I noticed that the lobby was warm and comfortable with overstuffed chairs and a fireplace. The entire staff throughout the hotel and casino were friendly and professional. The casino had a full variety of game tables and machines. I had a great deal of fun there. There was a large indoor pool and jacuzzi, and a state of the art excercise room. All of the expected amenities were available, including a few new innovative ones. One of my favorites was the "Recovery Room" where adults could relax in quiet surroundings. It is a perfect place to visit after enjoying a massage in the spa which also included a steam room, a sauna and a large communal jacuzzi. The service in Emily's Restaurant was exceptional and the Salmon was superb.
The suite was beautifully decorated. I particularly liked the down comforters on the bed. The view of the beach was phenominal while the beach itself was only a short distance away down a well lit walkway. The only thing lacking was a candle to use with the jacuzzi/tub. The fireplace is equipped with a timer for safety, the only shortcoming was that the timer only allowed 15 minutes of enjoyment before shutting off and having to be restarted.
Wonderful time

Having stayed at this hotel for the second time, my expereince this time was just as pleasant as the first. The rooms are beautifully decorated and I would highly recommend an ocean front view room. The lobby is very inviting. The staff was friendly and warm. Emily's Resturant is always a great choice. The food is excellent. The spa and amenities were very relaxing. I would recommend a weekend or midweek stay, for gambling and fun or for some rest and relaxation.
What a fabulous stay at Quinault Beach Resort
from Bamsalem
My family and I stayed at the Quinault Beach Resort and had a wonderful time. We were surprised at how spacious the entry was when you came into the lobby. The fireplace and surrounding were very soothing. The front desk clerk was a little pre-occupied but was very helpful when she did help us. We had a wonderful suite with an adjoining room which was extremely beautiful. My children and mom loved having there own room with big TV and fireplace. The view was gorgeous of the ocean and in the morning we could see the deer grazing outside. The fireplace timer was a little short but it was ok. The pool, jacuzzi and game room were clean and enjoyable. We don't gamble but found the casino to be a little smokey but not unbearable like some places. The breakfast at Emily's was wonderful, hot and plenty of it. The kids enjoyed getting some food at the food court by the casino. It was very tastey and the service was fast and efficient.
I believe that the staff can be more friendly but people are people! What can you say! It takes time!!!! Thanks for a wonderful stay and hope to be back soon!
Just what Uncle Sam ordered!!!

After four years in the US Marine Corps Infantry, a nine month and a seven month deployment, two tours in Iraq, Quinault Beach Resort and Casino was just what I needed!!! With the huge spotless rooms, beautiful pool and jacuzzi, and a day spa that could spend the rest of my life in, I don't know how you could go wrong!!! If peace and quiet is what you're looking for, Quinault has your ticket. If it's fun and excitement, Quinault is it. Or if you're just looking for a special romantic get-away with a loved one, you should choose no one else than Quinault. I loved the staff, the beaches, the food with my favorite chocolate dipped strawberries and sparkling grapes. As an Infantry Marine this resort and casino passes my inspection and it will exceed yours as well!!
Beautiful Hotel, Terrible Service
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I just returned from three days at the Quinault Beach Resort. The rooms are large and very well appointed, however that is the only nice thing I can say. Our sheets had a large, obvious stain on them when we checked-in and were never changed during our three night stay (they didn't have anything in the room that indicated an energy saving program and not changing sheets). The cold and hot water were reversed in the shower. Emily's restaurant screwed up our order and then overcharged us. The bar and casino are extremely smokey, even during the day when they are empty. Every hotel staf member we came in contact with was unfriendly and unhelpful. It is too bad to see such a nice resort that is so poorly run.
Another Fun Weekend At the Beach
from DaveFrancis
We stayed the weekend before Christmas. I had made reservations online, and asked for an early check in. We arrived at about 1pm from Seattle, and our room was not ready. We played a little in the casino, and went back to the desk an hour later. Our room still wasnt ready. When the front desk clerk saw us coming, she ran and hid from us, and had a co-worker explain the maid was actually in our room cleaning. We waited another hour, gambled a bit more, and then our room was ready. Forget the early check in! The rooms are quite nice. Very nice furnishings and comfortable. A broken shower head made us laugh a little, but no biggie. A timer on the fireplace is a little short if you want to snuggle, or engage in a little romance longer than 13 minutes (however, some men might like the timer). Emily`s has always been a favorite eatery of ours, as the food is consistantly good. Brunch in the morning is well worth the money! Seems rather spendy at about 20.00 per person, but the food has always been fresh, well prepared, and nice. Staff has always been great to us, and I have to say, the pool and jacuzzi are the cleanest nicest in town. Yes, we gambled ALOT....I kept winning 100 dollars or so at a time, and the wife kept spending. The next morning, after brunch, my wife made up for all of the spending, and hit a 1000 dollar jackpot. All is well, trip is paid for, with money to spare. A hint here: You can stay for free at this hotel Casino if you are smart with how you gamble. Try it.......
We had a nice time but

We went for a weekend visit and the room was very nice. I had only 1 request of the staff and that was for extra towels and got nothing. I try not to be a pest so I didn't ask again. I felt that there should be special parking available for those who are staying at the resort instead of parking clear out in Row D and lugging my luggage across the parking lot. I paid a pretty penny for my room and felt that I had to go elsewhere to eat and find entertainment because it was so crowded , in fact we didn't eat there at all because of crowds and the casino was way to smokey.
Top Local Tips for Ocean Shores
Fun at the beach!
Stop by one of the many rental shops along the main Ocean Shores strip and rent a quad, dune buggy, or scooter for an hour or two. Lots of fun on a hot day!
Lots to do in town
The young kids will enjoy the waterpark beside the Ramada hotel. There is also a mini golf and bumper boat center close by in town. You can ride horses on the beach for $20-$25 per hour. You can rent scooters to ride on the beach as well. You can drive your car on the beach.
Things to keep in mind...........
Surrounding towns such as Aberdeen are dismal and gross. They have an historical aspect to them but are really crappy and depressing. Also keep in mind you are at the shore and one disturbing thing I found were the overwhelming amount of tsunami awarness fliers, pamphlets and signage everywhere. A little distubing considering how long it would take you to get to high ground. You will find this on the ocean everywhere but it is still a bit sketchy.
